Also forgot to add Sexy Commando Gaiden to my list (NOT a h-anime, but the best
damn gag anime, makes Superbad and Knocked Up look like a absolute joke IMO)and
My-Otome (trying to catch up with vols. 2-onward even though I saw half of the
series fansubbed before it got licensed).
Mostly sci-fi, shoujo (stuff like Ultra Maniac and Kamichama Karin, but hey, at
least it's better than putting up/watching a boring/crappy teeny-bopper/chick
flick), slice of life and comedy. But yeah, I'm open to any type (except for
H-anime).

Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex (a definite must-see)
Pre-registration is a absolute must if you're gonna attend any convention
(including anime). It'll save you some money and long tedious lineups. (trust
me, it's worth it)
Please shower. I don't mean this in the typical condescending way, I mean this
to enhance your own con experience. It'll refresh you in the morning, and help
you get right back into the action after your 2-3 hours of sleep. It'll leave
you feeling rejuvinated. It'll be a service to your fellow convention attendees.
And above all else, if you're staying in a swanky hotel, you probably wanna take
advantage of what is likely to be a swanky shower setup. If
you're using Axe or something similar, don't coat yourself in it, be reasonable,
lots of Axe is just as worse as no showers. And for the love of GOD people,
brush your teeth once a day if you don't do it more often anyways. I have
encountered some people with some SERIOUS halitosis problems. Like, repulsive.
Introduce yourself to people, and mingle. You'll really have more fun this way.
Remember, almost everyone there is there for the same geeky stuff you're there
for.
If you're planning to go and buy anime goodies, plese bring cash. Don't rely on
ATMs, these things are useless IMO. Bring the cash you want from your home town
bank. And if you're low on cash (or not), save some for Sunday. 'Cause Sundays
many dealers would like to put their wares into your hands so they don't have to
take it home. On Sunday, deals run aplenty. On Sunday, you can get buttloads of
anime goodies (posters, stuffies, figures, etc.) for mere bucks.
To everyone new to the environment: The worst stories people have to share are
the worst because they were never outdone, and thus not something to worry about
this year.

Kinda weirs that I barely have time to watch one episode, or simply watch an
entire series (mostly 12-13 eps) due to other stuff (ex: grocery shopping and
work).
Lemme guess... how many nutjobs like Uwe Boll get famous for pissing off video
gamers?
And I heard he was gonna make a World of Warcraft movie... I mean, how the hell
could you make a WoW movie? No matter what you'd do with the story it'll annoy
some segment of the fanbase especially when they have to modify stuff so people
who don't play the game or know what Warcraft is in the first place.
Thank God I'm not in high school anymore. Or college/university for that matter.
(this coming from a 29-year old who works full-time in the afternoon
shift)
Other than looking around in MT, I'd be browsing other MBs, watching anime
(fansubs or R1 DVDs), watching TV (if there's anything worth watching) and
drawing. And going to bed. (I hate it when I go to bed at 5:30 in the morning
)
As much as I have my personal fair share of hated people and celebs, I'll toss
in a couple of characters that I loathe (yeah, I know it's kinda weird to hate a
cartoon character):
Shark Fujishiro (Seto no Hanayome) - stupid sharkman/whatever he is, love to
make shark soup outta him
Hideyoshi Sarutobi (Seto no Hanayome) - what a douchebag
Kai Mikawa (Seto no Hanayome) - WTF is up with him and that space suit?
Isabella (Soukou no Strain) - too bad she got killed off, serves her right for
making Sara Werec's life a miserable hell
Clotho Buer (Gundam SEED) - complete nutcase, thank God he got killed off by
Yzak in the end
Orga Sabnak (Gundam SEED) - another nutcase, just like Clotho
Flay Allster (Gundam SEED) - manipulative scumbag
Patrick Zala (Gundam SEED)
Reimi Odajima (Bamboo Blade)
Ooji Karasuma (School Rumble) - I just can't stand him, period
Karena Nanjo (Umisho)
Sc-fi Anime, a local store in downtown Montreal for most of my anime DVDs. If
they don't have a specific title that I'm interested, the guy/owner will order
it for me. I rarely buy manga there. (I did manage to complete the Kamichama
Karin manga though)
Quote by oudorobouthere's no problem if
you're laughing at juvenile humor. although, i'm not as old as some of you guys
(i just turned 20 last week) you can laugh at whatever you want. i do. people
who say that you're being juvenile just have a different sense of humor or none
at all.
True. And I'm almost 30.
Things that make me laugh:
Masa Ikariya (aka Ikamasa) from Umisho
the skateboard part from The Simpsons where Homer falls into the gorge and the
April Fool's episode (kinda ironic that I hate April Fool's Day)
Peter Griffin from Family Guy
Caramelldansen clips on Youtube
Izumi beating the crap outta Nakabayashi in He is My Master
"And the next big announcement is: Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. Sorry ADV!
Yes, I'm serious, Bandai Entertainment has snatched away the Gurren Lagann
license. They'll start releasing it in July, August, and September, three months
in a row. It will also be sub-only for that release; a dub version will be
released in 2009. Here is a teaser site for TTGL, btw: http://gurren-lagann.bandai-ent.com/
...Don't worry; I'll get to questions about whether they'll use the same
cast/dub and what kind of release they'll be doing.
Three 9-episode chunks for Gurren Lagann; no license for the movie just yet. For
the dub they're starting completely over, so you can scrap those ADV dub cast
lists entirely. The sub version will probably be fairly bare-bones, with more
special features and stuff available for the dub version. Nothing concrete for
possible digital distro for the series."
And with the series not being produced by ADV anymore, that's no longer an
option.
So we'll be seeing a new dub from either Ocean or Bang Zoom!. And it's slated
for release in July - best 30th b-day present ever.
Sexy Commando Gaiden (best gag anime ever), Yakitate Japan, School Rumble, He is My Master and Umisho (an absolute riot).
If you want worst mainstream anime, Battle B-Daman comes to mind. That is one godawful series. And I second shoujoboy's sentiments.
Also forgot to add Sexy Commando Gaiden to my list (NOT a h-anime, but the best damn gag anime, makes Superbad and Knocked Up look like a absolute joke IMO)and My-Otome (trying to catch up with vols. 2-onward even though I saw half of the series fansubbed before it got licensed).
Found MT through the APA while looking for hi-res pics around '05. Been here for nearly 2 years.
Nice. Plus it loads much faster (including shorter download time) and it even retained my bookmarks.
In short, it works super.
Here's an add-on to revert to the old address bar if you're getting fed up with the new drop down on the address bar: oldbar 2.1
Even though I hate smoking, I'd say Kenzaburo Ishibashi of Bamboo Blade.
Mostly sci-fi, shoujo (stuff like Ultra Maniac and Kamichama Karin, but hey, at least it's better than putting up/watching a boring/crappy teeny-bopper/chick flick), slice of life and comedy. But yeah, I'm open to any type (except for H-anime).
